Dr. Curtis W. Keswick received his Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Optometry Degrees from UC Berkeley's School of Optometry. He then served in the Navy at Bethesda Naval Hospital from 1975 to 1977 before setting up this private optometry office in the heart of Almaden Valley. In 1978 he started teaching at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System and became Chief of the Optometry Section in 1995. He teaches fourth year externs from five different optometry schools and is the residency supervisor for three one year residents after they graduate from optometry school. He has just started a two year program for research in Low Vision as well. Dr. Keswick is a past president of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society and the Alumni Association of the University of California Optometry. He is a recipient of the "Optometrist of the Year" award for the state of California in 2000. He was on the six person executive committee that just recently convinced the VA nationwide to spend over $43 million to enhance the continuum of care for low vision patients at 52 VA facilities.
